Attendance
You build the attendance sheet with your own columns and rows, and absence reports come from these records.
Every institution takes attendance differently. Some keep a daily class list, others track by course or for the cafeteria. So you build the sheet to fit your own setup. Columns can be checkmarks, text, numbers or options. Rows can be students, instructors, parents, courses or items you write yourself.
What's on the screen
- Columns can be daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. Days of the week, days of the month and months can also be used as columns.
- There are two ways to work: single-course attendance and a day/course table.
- You choose the name and color of each status: present, absent, late, excused or not counted. Reports count by these labels.
- You can fill a whole column in bulk, or select only the empty cells.
- Totals, averages, counts or percentages can be added at the ends of rows and columns.
- Before saving, you are warned if any student is unmarked. A second attendance sheet cannot be opened for the same date, class and course.
- The sheet can be printed or saved as a PDF.
- The absence report is available by class, attendance type, course and student.
How to use it
- In Attendance Definitions, set up the column and row structure once and choose which classes and courses it applies to.
- In a new attendance sheet, choose the definition, class, course and date. For example 9-A, Mathematics and today's date.
- Mark students one by one, or fill the column in bulk and change only those who are absent.
- Save. Absence counts are posted to reports and to the student's card.
For any institution that takes daily, weekly or monthly attendance. Instructors also take attendance for their own courses.
You are not tied to a single list. You can keep different sheets on the same screen, such as course attendance, study sessions, cafeteria or shuttle lists.
