Education Management System

Messaging

Parents, teachers and school management exchange messages by topic. Administrators can review conversations.

Every message is written under a subject. A parent writes to their child's teachers and to school management; the teacher and the administrator reply in the same thread. The conversation continues until the topic is closed.

  • A parent can message their child's class teacher, guidance teacher, the teachers of their courses, and school management (principal, deputy principal).
  • An instructor can write to school management and to the parents of students in their own classes.
  • If email is configured, the recipient is notified by email when a message arrives.
  • The unread message count appears as a badge in the menu. The list and the open conversation update without refreshing the page.
  • Instructors and parents can turn message receiving on or off with the switch at the top right. While it is off, no messages are sent to them.
  • A sent message can be edited or deleted within 3 minutes. An edited message carries an "edited" label.
  • The instructor who opened the topic, or the recipient instructor, can change the subject and close or reopen the topic.
  • If a conversation has no activity for 3 days, the topic closes automatically.
  • You can search by sender, recipient, student or message text. Recipients are chosen from a searchable list.
  • An administrator can read all conversations on the "All Messages" review screen.
  • A daily message limit and a waiting time between messages apply. The remaining time is shown on screen.
  • In the list, the topic status (open or closed) and the student's class appear as colored labels.
  • The module can be turned on or off per institution from institution management.
  1. Go to Messages in the menu and choose New Message.
  2. Search and pick the recipient from the list, then write the category, subject and message and send it. For example, a question titled "About absence".
  3. The teacher or administrator sees the message in their own inbox and replies.
  4. The reply appears in the menu with a badge.

For schools and courses that want regular communication with parents without having everyone write to personal phones. Messages stay in the institution's system. Management can review conversations, and teachers decide who can message them.
