Dormitory

Set up dormitories, floors, rooms and beds. Assign boarding students to beds, move them and track their history.

You start by creating the dormitory: name, gender and responsible instructor. Then you set up floors and rooms. When you enter a room range, many rooms and beds are created at once.

  • A dormitory can be for boys, girls or mixed.
  • Floors are added. For a room range, you give a prefix, first and last number, and the number of beds per room.
  • If bunk beds are selected, lower and upper beds are created in order.
  • A bed can be marked as available or out of order.
  • The placement screen shows the number of occupied, empty and out-of-order beds, with the occupancy rate.
  • Boarding students are placed in dormitories that match their gender.
  • A student can be moved to another bed or removed from the dormitory. A whole dormitory can be vacated in bulk.
  • The placement history of each student and each bed is kept with dates.
  • The student profile has a Dormitory tab.

Add a dormitory, then create its floors and rooms with a room range, for example rooms 1-10. Place a boarding student in an empty bed, and move or remove them when needed.

For schools with boarding students, dormitories and institutions that run camps. Who stays in which bed, and who stayed there before, is on record. The system blocks gender mismatches and occupied beds.
