Exams and Grades
Plan the exam and enter the scores. The grade chart and averages by term, class and course are ready.
You enter the exam's date, time, location and maximum score. After the exam is held, you type in the scores on the Exam Grade Entry screen. Averages and charts are calculated from these scores.
Exam and grade screens
- Each exam has a course, class, exam instructor, date, time, location and maximum score.
- The status can be planned, held or not held. For a postponed exam, a new date and a reason are entered.
- An exam can be copied, so you don't have to enter a similar exam from scratch.
- On the Grades screen you choose the term, class and course. Held exams appear as columns and students as rows.
- The result is the average of the exam scores on a 100-point scale. If a teacher's discretionary grade is entered, it is included in the average.
- Discretionary grades from previous terms stay as they are.
- Instructors see and enter only the exams and grades of their own courses.
- Exams appear on the calendar. Students and parents follow upcoming exams and results on their own pages.
- In New Exam, enter the course, class, date and maximum score. For example Mathematics, 9-A, 100 points.
- When the exam is held, mark its status as Held.
- In Exam Grade Entry, type in the scores, such as 85 or 70.
- If you like, give the student a discretionary grade.
- On the Grades screen, choose the term, class and course and look at the averages.
For institutions and instructors who give written exams, practice exams or placement exams.
The average is calculated the moment you enter a score. The report card and the achievement report use the same data, so you don't need to do any extra calculation.
